Leo Vieira, M.D.

Dr. Leo Vieira has been practicing medicine in the Trinity area since 2002. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Prior to founding Trinity ReLeaf, he co-founded Trinity Oaks Family Medicine with Dr. Robert Ferreira. Prior to that, they worked together at the BayCare Medical Group for 15 years.

Trinity ReLeaf originated from the desire that both Dr. Vieira and Dr. Ferreira have to help each of their patients to live their happiest, healthiest and longest lives possible. They believe that this can be achieved by combining healthy lifestyle choices along with the judicious use conventional medicine and other non-traditional therapies such as cannabis.

Dr. Leo Vieira graduated with honors from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and was the recipient of the prestigious William D. Kaplan Award, “for the medical student who best combines humanism with the clinical study of medicine.” He completed his residency at Florida Hospital in Orlando, where he was named Resident of the Year.

Originally from Brazil, Dr. Leo Vieira also lived in England before moving to the U.S. as a child. He grew up in the Washington, D.C. area, where he met his wife Guiga, a clinical social worker. They moved to Florida in 1999.

In 2010, Dr. Vieira, Guiga Vieira and Dr. Ferreira co-founded People for Haiti, a non-profit organization that provides medical relief in Haiti. Together, they organized more than 20 medical relief trips to provide care to Haiti’s most underserved.

In his free time, Dr. Vieira enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and children, Lucas and Isabela. He enjoys the outdoors, loves all sports, and has a soft spot for the Washington Commanders.
